Founded in January 1978, HuaBei Planning & Design Institute (HPDI) is a subsidiary company wholly-owned by HQCEC, and also is the engineering design center of HQCEC.
Engaging in the services of engineering design, consulting, supervision and EPC, HPDI covers a wide range of business, such as chemical, petrochemicals storage & transportation, chemical mining, civic building, construction materials, geotechnical engineering, telecommunication and engineering survey etc.
HPDI has obtained various certificates covering a variety of fields. They are as follows: Class A Engineering Design Certificate; Class A Design Certificate of petrochemical pharmaceutical industry (chemical, storage and transportation of petrochemicals, chemical mining); Class B Engineering Design Certificate of Municipal Engineering (highway and bridge channel), and Construction Materials (non-mental mine); Class-A Engineering Consultation Certificate of Chemical Industry (chemical mining), architecture, and Geotechnical Engineering; and Class-B Engineering Consultation Certificate of Construction Materials (non-mental), highway, telecommunication and Engineering Survey.
At present, HPDI has 191 engineers and technicians, among which there are 2 professor-class engineers, 42 senior engineers, 4 First class architects, 7 structrural engineers, 4 consulting engineers, 15 cost engineers, and 19 supervision engineers.
There are about 20 specialties in HPDI ranging from chemical process, chemical piping, equipment, mining, ore dressing, geology, mining machinery, architecture, structure, electrical, automatic control, general plot plan, water supply & drainage, heating & ventilating, technical economy, environmental protection, and budgetary estimate etc.
In addition, HPDI is equipped with advanced and well-fitted computer/networks, which has also been used in engineering and management system. The Data could be transmitted among HQCEC, construction sites and other subsidiary companies timely and smoothly. In particular, the application of 3-D computer design systems (PDS/PDMS) has also won HPDI high reputation.
Over the past 26 years, HPDI has accomplished more than 600 engineering projects, among which there are 460 plus projects of petrochemicals, chemical mine and civil building, more than 90 projects of industry planning, resources development and study. Up to now, HPDI has won more than 50 national or ministerial prizes of excellent design and science and technology progress.
In comply with the development strategy of HQCEC and its own technical strength, HPDI will spare no efforts in developing into the engineering design center of HQCEC with strong competitiveness and advanced technology. It will firmly stick to the strategy of developing diversified capabilities of design and consulting of the petrochemicals, chemical mines and civil architecture.
