EPC
With the approval from former China Ministry of Chemical Industry in 1984, China Huanqiu Chemical Engineering Corporation was established based as an original Chemical Design Company. HQC is the first company in China to execute EPC projects. The company transferred from a design institute to a multi-functional international company that is engaged in consulting, research, design, procurement, construction management, equipment manufacture and commissioning.
The company continues adjusting and reforming outdated systems along with establishing and improving new systems to meet the latest demand of the contracting and engineering industry. As of the management system, the company established a series of advanced management systems that were adapted to EPC projects. These systems are business management system, project quotation system, project control system, quality management system, HSE system, and project finance system. Regarding organization structure, the company created a wholly new matrix structure that consisted of departments and project management teams, and focused on project implementation. The matrix structure grants a strong HR and technology support. On the work flow, the manager responsibility was introduced. Moreover, a series of practical procedures was established that serve for guiding EPC project execution.
HQC signed Liuzhou Fertilizer Plant’s Ammonia Compose Heat Reclaim Project in 1984, which was its first EPC project in China. The company won its first oversea EPC bidding in Bengal in 1995. Up to now, the company has finished 150-plus EPC projects. The newly signed EPC contract amount, business taking, and total interests account for more that 80% of the total revenues.
Sri Lanka Ceylon Petrochemical Company Offshore Oil Unloading and Tank Facility EPC Project was awarded as “EPC Golden Key Prize”. Bengal SGFL Natural Gas Treatment and Transportation System Project was awarded as “EPC Silver Key Prize”. Dushanzi 1,000,000 t/y Ethylene Project successfully completed commissioning with the first feeding, and HQC was rated as one of the “Ten Best Project Contractors” in the national survey and design industry on the 60th Anniversary of P.R. China.
Italy Pirelli Tyre Project was the first EPCM project that was executed locally by HQC in a European developed country. The project produced the first tyre successfully already. At present, HQC is able to execute several large-scale complex projects simultaneously. As of the project execution capacity, HQC has become an advanced engineering company in China. Its EPC ability covers the whole business chain that includes project front-phase, design, procurement, and construction. Moreover, HQC has been rated as one of ENR’s Top 225 International Contractors and Top 200 International Design Firms for 11 straight years.
Construction and Construction EPC
As a HQC subsidiary, HQC (CP6CC) Company is the only company of CNPC that has project experiences on completed ethylene equipment and large-scale LNG tank projects. There are only a few Chinese companies that have such kinds of project experience.
HQC (CP6CC) Company has finished 500-plus projects, which include large-scale refinery projects, ethylene project, LNG tank projects, offshore terminal projects, long-distance pipeline stations, I-level boilers, oil & gas ground field construction, large-scale equipment lift and installation and self-supply power stations. Among these projects, most of the equipment units are the largest ones in China or even in Asia, which include CDU, CCR, FCC, Hydrogenation Unit, DCU, and Benzene-acetone Dewaxing Unit.
HQC (CP6CC) Company completed 20 cracking furnace projects of different sizes and process technologies, such as 40,000 t/y sized, 60,000 t/y sized, 100,000 t/y sized, 130,000 t/y sized and 150,000 t/y sized. A series of advanced level oil & gas treatment facilities were finished by HQC (CP6CC) Company. Those facilities were parts of Shengli Oil Field, Zhongyuan Oil Field, Changqing Oil Field, Dagang Oil Field, Kuwait 28# Oil Station, and Sudan Oil Field Group Construction Project. The company furthermore completed several power plants and power transformer substations, which are different in size of 100 million watt, 120 million watt and 110 KV. The company also has many experiences in 60-plus oil & gas tank buildings, and thousands of different metal oil tanks.
