HQC has strong technical research strength, and its research area covers multiple fields.such fields are technology, complete equipment, pipelines, electrical devices, communications, meters, equipment, structures, construction, HVAC, pumps, safety and environmental protection, cost estimation, analysis. Based upon its post-doctoral workstation and North Chemical Research Institute, coperation with Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, other research centers and universities, HQC has made technical breakthroughs to different degrees in such fields as ethylene, polypropylene, glycol, chemical fertilizer, acetic acid, methanol, natural gas and LNG receiving terminals. HQC is able to supply technical packages in 14 categories of units, for example large ethylene, large polypropylene, large LNG and large chemical fertilizer units. It has also undertaken 4 important projects to develop the key technology for oil refinery and natural gas.
It has been authorized with 42 national patents and had 22 patent applications accepted. It possesses two national construction methods, 13 provincial and ministerial construction methods, 41 competitive proprietary technologies, more than 10 technological innovations developed or being developed independently with market value, and 34 independently developed computer softwares.
HQC has many corporate qualifications. It has attained Grade A qualification issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development for comprehensive project design for all industries. It has advanced network hardware system, project application software system and project management integration system and various databases. It organized and participated in establishment of industrial technical centers. It also shouldered the responsibility to provide consultancy service concerning engineering standards for the related industries across the country. It has taken the lead or participated in drafting 18 national standards, 34 industrial standards and 8 association standards.
