Chimkent Refinery Passes Its 3rd Year Test
At 16:16, June 14, 2021 (Almaty Time), the Chimkent Refinery in Kazakhstan went right back on stream upon the first effort of commissioning after its shutdown for major maintenance of its RFCC unit, products inspected all on-spec. This was the first thorough inspection/maintenance Chimkent Refinery went through ever since it had started run upon completion of the modernization project successfully executed by HQC HD. The Refinery is one of the key projects within the Belt & Road Initiative, and meanwhile one of the major projects within Kazakhstan’s “Bright Road” Initiative. During the 3-year operation, the Refinery had been working nicely, seeing no technical modification to any of its main units. When inspecting the 2 million t/a RFCC unit, the Employer and the service team detected no damage, coking or other abnormalities in the disengager, regenerator, fractionator or other core devices, praising the Project quality all the way.
