An agreement signing ceremony was held in Shanghai among HQC Shanghai, CarbonLock Technology (Hangzhou) and China National Chemical Engineering No. 14 Construction Co., Ltd. to jointly promote the industrialization of the chemical CO2 capture and storage technology.
At the ceremony, the three parties discussed about the PDP development, engineering designs, etc. in respect of CO2 capture, storage and downstream comprehensive utilization. This technology can achieve a CO2 capture rate of over 90%, a CO2 concentration higher than 99.99%, and an absorbent regeneration heat consumption less than 2.4GJ/t. The overall performance indicates that the technology is a world leader, which would drive technologically for low-carbon, environment-friendly, green, recyclable development.
It is understood that the three parties have already established good bases for cooperation in the development of CO2 capture technology. In June 2021, a 150,000 TPA unit for CO2 capture - the first demonstration unit on a national R&D project led by Zhejiang University - went on stream in Shaanxi GuohuaJinjie Power Plant, and meanwhile, a thousand-ton unit for the industrial verification of solid CO2 adsorption - another effort of the trio - passed commissioning.
