PetroChina's Dalian Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Import Terminal received its first shipment on the 20th of November, 2011.
The LNG carrier "Expedient" sailed into Dalian terminal in northeast China's Liaoning province on Wednesday, indicating that the commissioning of the terminal had formally commenced.
The Dalian terminal will mainly receive LNG fuel from Qatar, Australia and Iran, and send the energy to northeast China and parts of north China after regasification.
The construction of the terminal started in 2008 and finished in April this year. The terminal has an annual handling capacity of 3 million tonnes of LNG under phase-one development.
HQC completed the Dalian LNG Terminal Project one year before expected, finished research, engineering, procurement, construction, construction and management self-independently, and the project process reached a world-class level. Among the project equipment, over 85% of those were designed and manufactured by China.
